1. Mind Games opens with Thea Fox, her parents and brother, heading to Redbud Hollow, Kentucky, to visit her Grammie. It was the best part of the summer for her. What’s the best part of summer for you (now or growing up)?
2. We gradually learn about the gift Thea shares with her Grammie—and her mom (who doesn’t use the gift). Have you encountered people with that heightened awareness of the people and world around them?
3. Chapter 3 launches a very sad portion of the story. How did it feel to read about Thea’s parents’ murders through Thea’s eyes?
4. Detectives Musk and Howard appear throughout the book. Did you agree with how Thea completely obliterated their doubt about how she knew the details of the murder? Did you agree with her helping them over the years?
5. Do you play video games? What sort appeals to you?
6. Who were your music idols growing up? How would you react to meeting them years after watching them perform?
