  2. Family connections play a major role in Hideaway, from the extended Sullivan clan to the Cooper ladies. Did the families do a good job of balancing protection and freedom for Cate after the kidnapping?
  3. Cate and Dillon meet as kids when he finds her in his kitchen after her escape. Were you impressed by his ability to keep her calm? Did meeting his ladies show you why he was capable of that?

After Dillon nearly has a heart attack when he hears Cate scream, she then explains the various ways in which she does so: “You’ve got your heartbroken scream, your I’ve-just-stumbled-over-a-dead-body shriek—which could also be a caught-in-the-throat type—there’s your I-just-won-the-billion-dollar-lottery scream, and the wet scream—filled with tears and vibrating—among scores of others. I need a bloodcurdling.”
