The Woman's National Book Association presents its list of Great Group Reads for National Reading Group Month

Reading Group Choices is pleased to share the Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) Great Group Reads 2020 list, part of their National Reading Group Month initiative!

This annual month-long celebration provides an opportunity for reading groups worldwide to celebrate their accomplishments and plan for the future. It’s also a perfect time to join or start a reading group! Every October, WNBA organizes events nationwide and announces an annual list of book selections for reading groups: Great Group Reads.

Giveaway Winner: A Little Free Library Community Collaboration

Every month, Reading Group Choices collaborates with a publisher to give away books to our readers. This past August, in collaboration with Harper Perennial, Reading Group Choices ran a giveaway for 20 copies of The Shadow Key by Susan Stokes-Chapman. One of those copies found its way to a Little Free Library in Northern California with a great community behind it. Read more from the giveaway winner below!

The September Spotlight Group Is…

September 2024 Spotlight: The Mission Valley YMCA Book Club

Our September 2024 Spotlight have been meeting for over 2 years!

Our book club was created as an offering of the Y Active Adults (55+) program at the YMCA Mission Valley branch in San Diego. The club has been meeting for 2+ years and is open to all active adult members of the Y. We currently have 13 members who attend regularly and share a love of books and life! While we only met because of our Y connection, we now consider ourselves friends.

August 2024 Spotlight: The Traveling Book Club

Our August 2024 Spotlight hold discussions in locations from their books!

We read so many books set in fascinating places. A group of friends decided it would be great fun to travel to those locations for our book discussions. Our Traveling Book Club was born! We read one book a year. The discussions are held at actual places mentioned in the story. Taking turns selecting the book and planning the trip is part of the fun. The goal is to immerse ourselves into the story by visiting as many sites as possible.
