We were more than pleased to recommend Belle Boggs’ nonfiction book, The Art of Waiting: On Fertility, Medicine, and Motherhood, in Reading Group Choices 2017. So we were excited to find out that Belle would be speaking at the Decatur Book Festival where Reading Group Choices had a booth. Reading Group Choices enjoyed following Frances, the protagonist of the novel by Allison Amend, to Chicago, Nebraska, San Francisco, and of course the Galapagos Islands. Even though we have different backgrounds (Artists, Teacher, Salesman, Homemaker, Minister, Business Owner and administrative assistant), we have one thing in common: our love of reading. Our meetings are the first Friday of the month at a local family restaurant.

Bringing Together Book Lovers in Your Area

Reading groups form for a variety of reasons, and in a variety of locations. A group may be made up of friends, co-workers, parents, neighbors, or people who were once strangers. A group may meet at a bookstore, home, cafe, church, or park. But, no matter the reason for creation, or the space that they are held, there is one common factor: book groups are filled with people who love reading and talking about books!

While it is hopefully easy for you to enjoy your book group, it is sometimes challenging to start one.
