Books to Read by a Fire

Reading Group Choices presents books to read by a fire

Every season has its reader (we offered up some summer picks here!), but autumn holds a special place in the heart for readers. Reading Group Choices presents this list of books to read by a fire. After the back-to-school madness, the falling temperature allows us to pull up our favorite blankets, turn off our phones, and spend a long evening in the pages of a book.

Classics, mysteries, and reflections on passing time: these titles capture the essence of fall. Build a cozy fire and thank the chilly weather for giving you a reason to stay indoors!

Over the years, some members left and new members joined but most still live in Mirasol. They meet once a month on the last Thursday night of the month at 7:30pm at a member’s home. Novels That Take Us Back to School

Reading Group Choices presents novels that take us back to school

That time of year has arrived: Back to school! Gym uniforms, freshly-sharpened colored pencils, overpriced textbooks. Algebra homework and PhD dissertations. That touch of excitement to see familiar faces after summer break, mixed with a healthy amount of resignation.

(Non-Required) Reading

For students, that means much assigned reading. But for the rest of us, we can prepare for the season and indulge in a vicarious school experience on the page.

Reading Group Choices presents a list of fiction, both adult and young adult, with a connection to school. These titles range in subject matter from elementary to university (with some witchcraft thrown in for good measure).
