From Civil War sites to the Delta Blues Museum, Mississippi stands out as a state with a lot of history. Our May 2021 Spotlight connects with over 24,000 followers online!

I am the book club host of the Litsy Book Club, now four years strong. We are a dynamic bunch of women from across the country, and now even in Germany!  We live in North Carolina, Missouri, Maryland, Kansas, Colorado and California. We Zoom our meetings once a month. We have had numerous authors join us, and some of us have even met them in person at book festivals.

We read a variety of books each year based on member recommendations.

I belong to the book group that is part of the Oakdale-Riverbank-Escalon branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) in California. I first joined this group in 1993, but it had been in existence for years before that. AAUW is a group dedicated to advancing gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy. Our local branch has been very involved in programs involving junior high and high school girls.
