November 2021 Spotlight: Meg’s Book Group

Our November 2021 Spotlight dedicated their group name to one of their members in her honor

Meg’s Book Group was formed by a group of teachers and other staff from Lincoln Elementary School in Madison, WI, decades ago. Soon, parents wormed their way in and we’ve been meeting steadily ever since with some new members joining while others left. Our group is now 8 regular members mostly in our late 50s and early 60s.

Over the years, we’ve become good friends and share more than just book discussions.

September 2021 Spotlight: Good Books Good Company (GBGC)

Our September 2021 Spotlight gets involved in promoting reading across Rhode Island with local events!

GBGC (Good Books Good Company) has 15 active members with on average 8-12 in attendance at our bi-monthly meetings.  The club has been meeting since 2000.  I, Rosanne Trissler (lower far left), joined in 2001 when I came on board as a librarian at La Salle Academy.  This has been a steady group – even with the need to “go virtual” this past year.  June was the first opportunity that we had to reconvene in person at one of our member’s back yard!

June 2021 Spotlight: Convivial Readers, Divas, and Darlings Book Group

Our June 2021 Spotlight comes from the Pacific Northwest and has been sharing good company for 15 years!

After fifteen years, and a hundred twelve books later, our book group in Bellingham, WA, has
certainly covered some literary territory.

Our initial group was formed of work colleagues who, after years of working together in the school district, realized that we enjoyed each others’ company and shared a mutual love of reading. Our first book was The Highest Tide by Jim Lynch.
